L.C. Gas Mission

The mission of Liquefied Compressed Gas is to enforce the laws and regulations regarding the manufacturing of liquefied compressed gases located within Mississippi. All domestic, commercial and industrial premises or buildings where liquefied compressed gases may be received, stored, transported, sold, offered or exposed for sale, manufactured, refined, distilled, compounded or blended, as well as any liquefied compressed gas container, system, pump, equipment, tank car, storage tank, or other vehicle in which any liquefied compressed gas is stored, will be subject to regular inspections under this program.

State Liquefied Compressed Gas Board

Board Duties and Functions

Some duties and functions of the State Liquefied Compressed Gas Board include:

  • Promulgate and enforce rules and regulations.
  • Set and adopts general safety standards.
  • Issues and revokes permits for those engaged in the Liquefied Compressed Gas business in the State of Mississippi.
  • Has the authority to impose penalties and take other disciplinary actions for violations of laws and regulations.

*All Permit Applications are to be in our Jackson, MS, office by the 1st of the month “Prior to date of Board Meeting” in order to be placed on the Agenda.

Board Meetings

There will be a Liquefied Compressed Gas Board Meeting on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mississippi State Fire Academy, Classroom 102.

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Nathan Miller as our new Board Member to the Liquefied Compressed Gas Board. Mr. Miller was introduced at our March 10, 2016 Board Meeting. We look forward to working together with Mr. Miller as a part of our team.

Propane Education and Research Program (PERC Fund)

The L. C. Gas Board has grant money available to organizations or other interested parties for the purpose of promoting and researching the development of more cost-effective uses of propane. Educational, safety and market development programs may also qualify for this grant money.

Training Classes

CETP Training Classes

The Mississippi Propane Gas Association, is pleased to offer CETP training courses for all propane companies in Mississippi. This training is not limited to companies who are MPGA members. CETP courses are funded by PERC funds, which are contributions made by all propane marketers in the state. The courses are FREE, but pre-registration is required. The courses for 2016 are BASIC PRINCIPLES, PROPANE DELIVERY AND BASIC PLANT OPERATIONS. Basic Principles will be two days and Propane Delivery and Basic Plant Operations will be three days and will begin at 8:00 am and conclude by 5:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Registration forms are included with the registration deadlines noted.

Each employee must take the BASIC PRINCIPLES course before taking any of the other courses in order to obtain credit and be certified. If you enroll in another class prior to taking the Basic Course, you will not receive a pass or fail grade until completing the Basic Course.

Defensive Driving for the Professional Truck Driver - Training Classes

The Mississippi Propane Gas Association is pleased to offer DEFENSIVE DRIVING FOR THE PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVER to all propane companies in Mississippi. This training is not limited to companies who are MPGA members. This Course is funded by PERC funds, which are contributions made by all propane marketers in the state. The course is FREE, but pre-registration is required. The course if limited to the first 50 registered. The course will be 6 hours and will begin at 8:00 am and conclude by 2:45 pm. Lunch will be provided.. Registration forms are included with the registration deadlines noted.
