Mitigation Discounts by the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association (MWUA)

The MWUA currently provides discounts for mitigation with an IBHS certificate and for community enforcementof building codes.

Dwellings which have been constructed and certified by the IBHS as qualifying for a Fortified for Safer Living receive a minimum of 40% credit.

Dwellings certified for the IBHS mitigation program Fortified for Existing Homes receive the following credits:

• IBHS Bronze - 17%
• IBHS Silver - 25%
• IBHS Gold - 30%

Other Discounts

In addition several insurers provided discounts for IBHS Certification including Nationwide, State Farm, and Travelers. All companies will provide discounts by July 1, 2013.
