Business Entity Licensing Renewal Information

The Mississippi Insurance Department offers the following types of Business Entity renewals. Questions pertaining to the licensing process should be directed to licensing@mid.ms.gov or by calling the MID Licensing Division at (601) 359-3582.

NEW LICENSE APPLICATIONS PRINTED FROM THE MID WEBSITE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN PLACE OF THE RENEWAL INVOICE. Please submit a signed and dated request for a duplicate renewal invoice by scan and email licensing@mid.ms.gov or faxing 601-359-1951.

Licenses can be renewed electronically, unless otherwise noted at www.sircon.com or www.nipr.com.

Insurance Producer Entity

The Insurance Producer Entity biennial renewal invoices are mailed the week of March 26. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date. You may choose to return your paper renewal application and the license fee to the Department by the expiration date.

Non-residents: MID staff will verify home state licensure on the national state producer licensing database (SPLD).

For those with inactive licenses, if you wish to reinstate, you may submit a first-time Insurance Producer Entity or NAIC Uniform application or apply on-line.

Note: A late fee of 50% of the renewal fee will be assessed to all renewal invoices received after the renewal due date.


Limited Lines Insurance Producer Entity

The Limited Lines Insurance Producer Entity biennial renewal invoices are mailed the week of March 26. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date. You may choose to return your paper renewal application and the license fee to the Department by the expiration date.

Non-residents: MID staff will verify home state licensure on the national state producer licensing database (SPLD).

For those with inactive licenses, if you wish to reinstate, you may submit a first-time Limited Business Entity or NAIC Uniform application or apply on-line at www.sircon.com.

The Limited Lines Credit Insurance Producer Entity biennial renewal invoices are mailed the week of March 26. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date. You may choose to return your paper renewal application and the license fee to the Department by the expiration date.

Managing General Agent (MGA)

Managing General Agent business entity biennial renewal invoices are mailed the week of March 26. This license is not available to be renewed on-line. Please mail completed renewal invoice with license fee to the Department.

A reinstatement will result in a lapse in licensure if you fail to renew your license before the license expiration date.

Non-residents: MID staff will verify home state licensure on the national state producer licensing database (SPLD).

A late fee of 50% is imposed if reinstating license within one year after expiration.


Reinsurance Intermediary Manager/Broker

Reinsurance Intermediary Manager/Broker business entity renewal invoices are mailed the third week of December. If you failed to renew your license and wish to reinstate your license, you may submit a new application. A reinstatement will result in a lapse in licensure. There is not a penalty fee.

This license is not available to be renewed on-line. Please mail completed renewal invoice with license fee to the Department.

Supervising General Agent

Supervising General Agent business entity biennial renewal invoices are mailed the week of March 26. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date. You may choose to return your paper renewal application and the license fee to the Department by the expiration date.

Non-residents: MID staff will verify home state licensure on the national state producer licensing database (SPLD).

A reinstatement will result in a lapse in licensure if you fail to renew your license before the license expiration date.

A late fee of 50% is imposed if reinstating license within one year after expiration.


Third Party Administrator

Third Party Administrator business entity renewal invoices are mailed 67 days in advance of expiration. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date. You may choose to return your paper renewal and the license fee to the Department to be received by the expiration date.

Licenses not renewed during the renewal cycle require a new application to be submitted. A reinstatement will result in a lapse in licensure. There is not a penalty fee.

Portable Electronics Insurance Producer Business Entity

Portable Electronics Insurance Producer entity biennial renewal invoices will be mailed out the week of October 25. Licenses may be renewed online 67 days prior to the expiration date.

License not renewed during renewal cycle require a new application to be submitted. A reinstatement will result in a lapse in licensure. There is not a penalty fee.


Viatical Settlement Provider Business Entity

Viatical Settlement Provider business entity renewal invoices are mailed the week of October 25. This license is not available to be renewed on-line. Please mail completed renewal invoice with license fee to the Department to be received by the expiration date.
